When you’re designing something for a brand, it’s important to design with the brand’s core values in mind. These values should be used and thought of as design elements. These are the attributes that your design has to reflect in order to remain on-brand.

There have been countless times where I design something and wonder if this design best illustrates the brand’s motives. To check this, I look back to the brand’s core values and mantra. These are great tools to reference your designs off of because these are things the brand believes in and influences brands’ decision-making. If your design doesn’t reflect one or more of those values, then your design might need to be revised.
