An AI Song That Started The Conversation

AI as a Creative Tool

A while back, I discovered a song I genuinely liked was made with AI. Someone asked me, “Did it change the fact that you liked it? Does it even matter?”

My answer: No, I still like the song. But it shifts the appreciation.

TAs a result, the appreciation moves away from the artist & toward the technology. Suddenly, I’m asking different questions. How much of it is AI? The vocals, the lyrics, the rhythm, the ideation? Does it hold the creator’s creative voice? How much prompting did it take? What tool did they use? How editable is the final output? In turn, the conversation changes. It’s no longer about the artist’s craft. It’s about the machine’s capability. That shift matters & it matters especially in creative fields.

I Live In The Grey: My Honest POV On AI

Let’s get one thing straight. I’m not here to hype AI or bury it. I live in the grey. No flag. No side. & I mean that. Just a clear-eyed perspective from someone who’s been in the creative space for 20+ years as an illustrator, designer, & marketer who’s actually used the tools & knows what they can & can’t do. Just my honest curiosity taking over & seeing how my creativity can use it.

My take is simple. AI is a tool & that distinction changes everything. Keyword, tool.
